Sebab awalnya adalah sebuah berita yang muncul akibat pernyataan seorang politisi dari partai yang memenangkan pemilu legislatif tahun 2014 yang menyatakan bahwa kecuali  di Aceh, maka semua perda syari’ah di wilayah lain Indonesia ini akan dicabut atau dilarang.
